“(23) But the time is coming – indeed it’s here now – when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. (24) For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” – John 4:23-24
PURPOSE:The Music Ministry of Harvest Church seeks to produce an atmosphere of worship for the congregated body, through the administration of music and songs.
“I will sing of your love and justice; to you, LORD, I will sing praise.” – Psalms 101:1
“Praise the LORD with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp.” – Psalms 33:2
VISION: Purpose without vision is blindly seeking the next step. Our vision is to create, develop and minister songs that will effectively minister to the represented body of Christ while persistently mentoring and preparing members of the Music Ministry for unexpected and/or expected challenges. We aim to be inclusive of new, generational, worship music while maintaining a biblical foundation.
STRUCTURE: The leadership of Harvest Church ministry members should have guidance, accountability, and a certain level of responsibility for their devotion to the Music Ministry. It is also essential that Harvest Church's Music Ministry members are aware and responsible for their individual Godly representations outside the walls of Harvest Church. *** Just as within all ministries, Harvest Church emphasizes that God must first call members into the Music Ministry in order for members to wholesomely strive to produce an atmosphere of worship. The Music Ministry of Harvest Church discourages acts of “performance” and “showmanship” within the ministry. Instead, members of the Music Ministry should devote substantial time and effort into prayer so that they are able to “minister” pure and unadulterated worship at the time of their appointment.
